WordPress Thesis Custom Header

Description:

We have a custom WordPress installation with Thesis and need some very quick help to find out where we can edit/update a custom header file. This might take 15 minutes of work or less.

Coder must be excellent with WordPress and able to work very fast. We need this done immediately.

WordPress Plugin

Description:

We have a WordPress plugin that we need to modify for our site. The plugin is an advertising banner management plugin.

The banner layout needs to be modified so that it works with our template. This should not take long for a WordPress pro.

MySQL Tier Menu

Description:

Create a tiered menu system driven from mysql. We are looking to implement this within our database driven menu system, such that sql grabs all menu items, and a recursive function loops to render the items to a screen based on position and parent identifiers.

The menu must be validated and cross browser.

Oscommerce Modifications

Description:

We have a live site that requires some changes/addons. We would like to be able to discount totals by percentage depending on shopping cart value. For example:

Any orders between £100 & £249 would have the final price discounted by 30%.

The second part of this project would be to give the customer some options (from dropmenu) and text input for every item purchased. This also has to be saved across sessions and viewable from the admin panel.

Joomla Template

My website template needs to be adjusted and/or improved. It is devoted to tech theater for high School students and the home page has issues. The logo doesn’t quite fit in the box. The ‘stage seminars’ menu on top needs to be bigger. In fact, all the fonts on the site should be a point or two larger. Instead of people having to zoom in.

I am open to having a new template installed, however, I need the user boxes to match. Why? Because I have no idea how to move some of this stuff around. Yup, I admit it… I could certainly learn more about this. I do like it when coders tell me how this stuff works as we go along.

As for a new template, I would like to have one that allows users to change colors, change text size, etc… via those little buttons found (usually on the upper right corner.)

I like to work along side you so that I may learn more about this stuff.

MySql/PHP Change

Description:

We have a PHP / MySQL dating site with a chat room.

Only paid members can use the chatroom. The login for the chatroom is separate from the dating site login.

When someone logs into the chat room, the code currently calls the MySQL database ‘User’ table, and looks at the ‘UserLevel’ field to see if the user is a paid member before allowing entry into the chatroom.

We need to change the chatroom login so it calls the ‘expires’ table, and it’s ‘expiredate’ field instead of the above to determine whether to allow entry to the chat room.

The new code should look in the expiredate field to check the date to see if the member’s paid time has expired. The date is displayed in that field like this: 2007-12-05

If the today’s date is before the expiration date listed in this field, the member should be allowed to log into the chat room. If today’s date is later than the date listed in the field, the user will not be allowed to log in.

This job should be easy since it is already coded and working – just the field and table need to be changed to check the member’s expire date instead of the user level.

Form validation capture

Description:

We have recently moved to a new dedicated server. The form verification image used to work 100% fine, now it does not. However an old page i have with exactly the same code works fine,

So maybe we will have to alter/amend the php.ini file on the new dedicated server?

Form Processor

Description:

We have an installation of Form Maker Pro (form-maker.com) which was storing form data in MySQL and sending a copy by email just as we need. Then we moved to a new server.

We need the script to send email and I cannot find the problem. I know the domain email is working just fine because I created an account on the same domain and email works ok. I don’t think it’s DNS or MX records or the like.

The job is – Get our installation of Form Maker Pro to send email when a form is submitted like it did on our old server. We will have to tell you if it is working because we use an Exchange server and can’t easily create new accounts for others outside our organization.

RPS Addon

Description:�

Very simple. I want a button that says ‘RPS’ (which stand for Remote Player Search) that uses the RPS tool on my site but is integrated into my forums too. Right now the RPS button on my forums just redirects the user and that works fine, but I don’t want the user to leave the forums.

What I would like is for it to work like the Tools button (notice the Forums top menu never goes away when you go to Tools).

This is what I’m gonna need you to do:

1. Put the code from the enclosed html file in a SMF friendly php file.
2. I suggest making the RPS button link (just like the Tools page which is action=tools) , but the bottom line is I don’t want the user to leave the forums to go there.

That’s it. I’m sure this will take you minutes to do. Oh and if you want to see what the RPS page should look like.

Description:We currently have a used car searchable database that is shared by four automotive dealers.We need to add a new car functionality to this database.

In our admin panel we use an input form to add vehicles to the database. Currently we only add used vehicles. We need to be able to select “new” as a type of car – see jpg #1. And then add the new car with all of the same variables available for the used car. After the vehicle is added, we need to be able to edit, copy and delete – same functionality as we currently have for used vehicles.

2. From the admin panel, and also from the website for customers, we need to be able to search the new car database separately from the used car database. See jpg #2.

3. We have export feeds that currently send our used car inventories to various 3rd party sites. We need to include the new car inventory with each of those exports.

Credit Application
I am adding a credit application to the websites. I would like to modify it so that when a person is at our website and looking at a particular car (either new or used) there would be a link from the vehicle detail page that says something like “Apply online now” and when they click on that link it would pre-populate the stock number from the vehicle they were looking at onto the credit application. This way, when they submit the credit application, we will know what vehicle they were looking at.

Dating Site Updates

When an automated email is sent to a subscriber if somebody shows interest I think it would be good if we could allow a link straight to the persons profile. So we would add a line like :

The database needs to record all the details submitted by the user along with a list of the datasheets they have downloaded. An email should be submitted to Buckleys as well that is a record of the entry in the database.

Here are the fields that need to be entered into the database that need to be filled out when submitting to the database:

Staker:

Date staked:

Amount staked: (this could be a drop down menu, however there would be a lot of options because there are tournaments that cost different amounts. It may be easier to just type in how much was staked and hopefully the program can do the calculations from that)

Amount Won: (They could potentially not win any money, therefore would not need to fill out this specific field but fill out the one below it)

Amount Lost: (If they lost the tournament or money they would have to type in a Negative number? Such as –4.40.

Amount shipped back to staker: (If the player loses there would be no money shipped back to the staker, so this field would be left blank)

Here are some of the things I’d like the database to calculate:

How is Hot/Tilt Form calculated?
Hot is 3 payouts in a row. Super Hot is 6 payouts in a row. Tilt is 4 losses in a row. Super Tilt is 8 losses in a row.

(If a players has cahsed a lot 3 payouts in a row flames could appear next to his name) (If he has lost a lot in a row, ice could appear next to his name)

* Average amount won / average amount lost needs to be calculated as well for staker, player, and the overall NB.com member community.

What is Average ROI?
Average ROI is the average Return On Investment. It is calculated as the average of ((payout-(stake+rake))*100)/stake. So it will be about -110% for a player that loses every game, and about 340% for player that wins every 9 handed game. It could of course be a lot higher if, for example the player won every 180 player game they played in. It is a measure of ability independent of stake.

How can Average Profit be negative and Average ROI be positive?
This would mean the player wins most of his lower stakes games that he plays most frequently but loses the high stakes games he occasionally plays.

Blog System

Description:

I need to be able to put a “Discussion” link on the bottom of each post that takes the user to a form where they can post a comment.

I need to be able to filter out stop words like fuck,shit,pussy and all that good stuff from the comments. It should disallow posts that contain the stopwords that I can choose.

There also needs to be an administrative back-end where I can easily view all posts and delete them easily in case the site gets spammed.

There needs to be an image verification script to post a comment.

Commenters can leave a name and email address or post anonymously.

I also need to have the administrative option to review all comments before they get posted to the site in case spam is bad.

Comments can contain plain text url’s, but no html or hyperlinks out.

Each comment should create its own web page with the first 70 characters of comment text as the hyperlink to the page (from beneath the blog post), and the first 70 characters of the comment should also create the title tag in that html (or PHP) page that contains the comment text.

At the bottom of the comment page there should be a link to the next comment page. At the top should be a link back to that post and / or previous comment.

The comment pages should have the same look and feel as well as left hand navigation as the rest of the site. I realize that the main site pages will need to be converted to .php, and this is no problem; I will do that.

Contact Form

Description:

We Need a contact page written in PHP. The information and layout associated with this page can be seen in the attached sample .htm file.

No data validation is needed.

The form will simply be sent to an email address. The format in the email will need to be similar to the following format:

Last Name:
Email Address:
etc…

Upon successful submission of the data (ie. clicking the Submit button) the user will be taken to a page that has a thank you statement (we will need to modify the contents of this page later).

PHP Classifieds Work

This work has been started. The title on for ads has been done (and updated ). The image verification is in place and working perfectly, just formatting to complete.

Adverts Management

This job turned out to be more involved that the origional post, but nevermind it happens.

Description:

I’ve got a very quick job that I need someone with PHP and MySQL skills to do ASAP. Basically, I have a script which tracks hits sent to a url. The script adds a credit to a users account based on a variable in the url. 2 Urls are then selected from a database, and a credit deducted from each, and the 2 urls shown to the user.

My problem is that sometimes the user visiting the url doesn’t let the page fully load, and navigates away. What I want to do is stop the credits being added when this happens.

To do this, I want the hit to be added to a database first, and then when an iframe on the page loads, the user will be credited. In other words, still choose the 2 urls on the first PHP script, but move all the crediting to another PHP script, with another table in the database to store the hit information between the 2 scripts.

TinyMCe

An interesting project, seems there are lots you can do with this editor that are not common knowledge.

Description:

We have a system where people can order their business cards online. The customers can write in their own text. We use TinyMCE (v2.0.3). We want to remove many of the buttons/functions in TinyMCE. We do not want them to be visible.

We would also like to add a couple of functions; choose of font, and size. This may be possible with “Styles”/”format”, we need to know how.

Dynamic Form

Description:

I am looking for a program that will allow me to have a form on my website that will send the answers to a Mysql database on the server.

I want 20 fields that I can name, and input for 256 characters for each field and the ability to hide any field that I don’t use.

Note:

This was quite interesting to do, the dynamic of choosing how many questions to display was fun, thanks to Doodlebug for helping on this one.. I had brainfry.
